Juonetar is the Mother (’emuu’) of deers. She is primal, ancestral and eternal in her essence. Like the Deer (Capreolus capreolus), Elk (Alces alces) and Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus fennicus), she roams in search of fertile grounds, and has a mood for moving, leaving, returning and changing with the land and its seasons.
She reminds us of our hunter-gatherer roots, and a time before agriculture or modern civilization. She remembers the time of red paint and carvings on the rocks, a gift of amber to the waters, and a scent of smoke rising through the smoke hole towards the sky and the spirits who protect us.
Original hand drawn artwork printed on high quality, Hahnemühle’s William Turner fine art paper.
